The first edition of the Positive Economy Forum in Italy, held in the remarkable community of San Patrignano on June 12 & 13 2014, was a great success: almost 1,000 participants had the opportunity to discover 50 Italian and international speakers who shared their vision of the positive economy !
Building on this success, we are already preparing the next edition of the Positive Economy Forum in San Patrignano to be held in 2015!
WHY HOLDING THE POSITIVE ECONOMY FORUM IN SAN PATRIGNANO?
Founded in 1978, San Patrignano is the largest secular center in the world for the rehabilitation of drug addicts and children presenting difficulties. Since its creation, San Patrignano has taken care of more than 33,000 young people.
As a unique social reintegration model based on the search for excellence, San Patrignano offers its 1,300 annual residents more than 50 trainings from agricultural work (wine, farming) to arts and crafts ( leather workshops, metal work…), gastronomy as well as design and audiovisual.
“San Patrignano is a perfect example of social enterprise – says Antonio Tinelli, Coordinator of the Social Committee of the Community – considering that we welcome young men and women with serious problems linked to drug addiction completely free of charge, without requesting any kind of contribution from their families and without state funding. For this reason, we fully share the lines of the Movement for the Positive Economy“.
SO… HOW WAS IT?
+ 50 outstanding international and Italian speakers (business leaders, NGOs, politicians, social entrepreneurs, academics)
+ Inspirational testimonies from former residents of San Patrignano explaining how they struggled with their addiction problems and regained the desire to live.
