The City of Le Havre has always managed to take up challenges. Foremost was the city’s reconstruction, crowned in 2005 when its architecture was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next came the challenge of industrial transformation, with the shift of its core business towards the buoyant renewable energies sector, notably with the upcoming installation of an offshore wind farming sector. Today Le Havre, which can boast of an enviable quality of life, is fully involved in the reflections about the Seine Axis whose implementation will allow to provide a new dimension to the cultural and planning policies already started. Determined to achieve economic and human development and ensure the protection of its natural environment, a significant factor contributing to its attractiveness, Le Havre has thus built up the pillars of its sustainable development.
