ACHIEVEMENT/ What is the project/ initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the LH Forum all about ?

The NGO STEJ Togo makes available to children, young people and women from the prefecture of Golfe, Avé and Kloto (disadvantaged and rural areas) various projects and devices to have to knowledge and culture (a community center, a primary school, a games library, scholarships etc.).
Mi-Woè Social Business LLC’s mission is to provide the funding needs of STEJ Togo NGO while creating social, economic and environmental value. It develops 3 activities:
– Zam-Ké : making of bags and accessories with recycled plastic materials
– ViViFruits : sale of natural fruit juices
– Pomédi : production of hand-made soaps with plant oils

LOCATION/ In which city, country, part of the world do you conduct your activities ?

STEJ beneficiaries are located in the canton of Agoè Nyivé, 18km away from Lomé, in the canton of Badja, 62km away from Lomé, and in the city of Kpalimé, 120km away from Lomé.
Mi-Woè’s activities particularly employ young people and women form Kpalimé and Lomé. Their clients are also mainly located in Kpalimé and Lomé.


IMPACT/ What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental…of the activity, project, initiative, startup, company ?

Our actions have several positive impacts in Togo:
– Social impacts :
o Education and support of children, young people and women (STEJ Togo)
o Employment for young people and women (Mi-Woè Social Business)
– Economic impacts :
o Development of a « responsible » consumer market (Zam-Ké)
o Promotion of local agricultural products (ViViFruits, Pomédi)
– Environmental impacts :
o Reduction and upgrading of plastic waste from the streets (Zam-Ké)
o Awareness of the population to the sanitation problems in the towns (Zam-Ké)
