ACHIEVEMENT/ What is your project, initiative, start-up, company all about?
Lemon tri is a social enterprise dedicated to the recycling of drink packagings (bottles, cans, paper cup). Thanks to smart sorting terminals, we collect and recycle packagings of drinks ingested out of the house (at the office, in the street, in sport centers, malls, etc). Playful, incentive and responsible systems are associated to our machines in order to make the sorting process as fun as possible.
LOCATION/ In which city, country, part of the world do you conduct your activities?
More than 100 machines are today in activity in 10 cities in France and Belgium.
IMPACT/ What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental… of your activity, project, initiative, start-up, company?
Thanks to Lemon tri’s system, packagings that usually slip from the sorting process, now go easily into it. In France, only half the bottles are recycled – we aim to improve this. Our initiative works also on the employment of unemployed people facing troubles to find a job. Moreover, our machines in business partners’ headquarters or campuses generate a small donation (1 cent) for each bottle or can sorted. The benefit is given to charitable organizations.
Augustin Jaclin will speak during the High Schoolers’ Forum, Wednesday, September 16th (close to the public).
