ACHIEVEMENT / What does the project/initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum consist of?

KiWi is a swiss start-up founded in 2014, with the objective of bringing the best out of fintech to micro-merchants in emerging markets. With his KiWi mobile app, a merchant can accept electronic payments from his customers and sell them new products and services, such as airtime top-ups. He also gets an instantaneous access to micro-loans, as well as a simple and adapted solucion for his money management.

LOCATION / Where do you lead your project/company (city, region and country)?

 First country of implementation. MEXICO

IMPACT / How do you evaluate the economic, social, politic and environmental impact of your project / action?

Micro-enterprises are under pressure worldwide (Uber, 7eleven…). Already financially excluded, they are more and more technologically excluded. KiWi is here to fill the gap, bringing the tools that micro-enterprises need to develop their full potential, with peace of mind and freedom.

KiWi has a direct impact on merchants’ sales growth and diversification. On the top of the commercial and organizational improvements, KiWi creates a bridge between the traditional economy of micro-enterprises, eCommerce and finance.
