BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background:
Christopher is Senior Executive Vice President EUROPE, and Management Board Member of Nexans
Christopher began his career in sales with Linde Group in 1995 during two years in England before joining Alcatel Cables in 1997 in the Metallurgy Division, he held various sales and marketing Directorship positions. He joined Nexans’ headquarters in 2005 as Sales Director Europe, and lead the Sales Transformation program for the Group. In 2007 Christopher was appointed Vice President of Marketing for the Industry sector, and in 2009 became the General Manager of the Industry Activity in France. In 2011, he was appointed Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Industry Market line in Europe. From 2013 to 2014, he was Executive Vice President, Europe Industry Market Line.

While 87 % of employees worldwide are disengaged , how can we meet the challenge of restoring meaning/purpose and fostering engagement?
Christopher Guerin will discuss its social innovation program , gradually remobilising teams at every level of the company , through initiatives carried out in sequence ( employee forum, social barometer , “one day with the customer ” role model , socio transformation dynamic…)
Christopher is a leader practicing meditation . Practice that helps develop a more inspiring leadership , combining serenity, self-knowledge, more detailed understanding of employees.

In all EUROPE, with a specific focus in France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Greece.
IMPACT / How do you evaluate the economic, social, politic and environmental impact of your project / action?
We launched 18 months ago a transformation both economic and social, subjects that many people may seem contradictory. After tripling our profits in Europe in 18 months, we realize that bonding at the same time by the management these themes creates a tremendous collective effort.On the social part, we launched a vast program of employee listening on the field, to list all the irritating and “stone in the shoe” issue in all sites, and settle them in a quarter (working conditions, good being, organization, interpersonal relationships ..). We returned in some sites in depth through the socio dynamic transformation, setting in our factories barometers of social climate, and enhanced dialog with trade unions since 2014. A return of our interventions / analysis:We measured our absenteeism curves over 4 years at 32 sites, and on every curve we have positioned the date changes in local management. In 90% of cases there was within 6 months a reversals of absenteeism curve, upward or downward. We concluded that the directions that work towards, listening, empathy, vision issues of transparency create the desire and engagement. For this social transformation, Nexans was awarded in June 2016, the grand prize of “Hopes of Management in 2016″ from the hands of M Henri de Castries, Chairman and CEO of AXA.
