BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background:
Graduated from the ENA (French School of Administration), Clara is also graduated in Political Sciences of the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris.
She has been a public officer in high level administration before having an international career as the CEO of GE in France from 2006 to 2016.
Clara Gaymard is member of the executive boards of Bouygues, Danone, LVMH, Sages and Veolia. She is also President of the Women’s Forum since 2015. She published novels and essays too.
ACHIEVEMENT / What does the project/initiative/start-up/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum consist of?
RAISE gathers French business success stories which are also shareholders of RAISE and invest into medium-sized companies in order to help them to grow. The team’s generosity allowed to create the RAISE Foundation which is dedicated to younger companies. In a nutshell, with RAISE, the big one help the medium one to grow and then from this success it allows smaller one to rise and to secure their growth.
LOCATION / Where do you lead your project/company (city, region and country)?
RAISE covers the entire French region with teams based in Paris and Lyon, even though France is known for setting up news businesses, we can realize that half of the start-up companies are vanishing – 3 after their creation – because of the lack of support, advice and funding. In the same way, our medium sized companies need slow money and reliable partners to help them grow, in particular abroad.
IMPACT / How do you evaluate the economic, social, politic and environmental impact of your project / action?
Since 2014, RAISE has been operating on the entire French territory and has risen near than 350 million euros and has invested in 7 medium sized-companies and hosted 13000 young companies and helped the funding and advised 100 growing companies.
The RAISE Foundation can now rely on 20 million euros’ fund.
