Founder and CEO of BlaBlaCar
Frédéric Mazzella holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Stanford University (USA) and a Master of Physics from ENS Ulm (Normale Sup). Prior to founding BlaBlaCar he worked for three years as a scientific researcher at NASA (USA) and NTT (Japan). Frédéric is a regular speaker in international conferences and Medias (CNN, CNBC….) on the theme of sustainable development, entrepreneurship, global marketplaces and building trust in online communities.

BlaBlaCar is the leading European ridesharing community that connects drivers with empty seats and people traveling the same way, so they can share their cost.
Today, with 8 million of members across Europe and a million of people transported per month, BlaBlaCar is making road travel social, money-saving and more sustainable.

BlaBlaCar is gathering 8 millions of members in 12 countries (France, Germany, Great-Britain, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, Poland, Ukraine and Russia) and 130 employees in 7 cities (Paris, London, Hamburg, Madrid, Milan, Warsaw and Moscow)
IMPACT / What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental… of the activity, project, initiative, startup, company?
Ridesharing is a straightforward and promising solution of optimisation to reduce air pollution and urban traffic jam, daily fostering human relationships and offering transportation economy.
BlaBlaCar gave the possibility to the drivers, who divided the costs of their ride, to save a total of 255 millions euros since the launch of the website and also to avoid the rejection of near 700 000 ton of CO2.
