BACKGROUND / Academic and professional background

Graduate of two master’s degrees in marketing of convenience goods (ESSCA) and in financial management and control (ESSEC). She has started her career in the development as a consultant in Mexico, Senegal and Argentina for MicroCred Holding, investment society whose goal is to create and develop a group of microfinance institutions in emerging countries. She joined Max Havelaar France as a project officer of Agrofine whose objective is to make the access to funding easier for certified production organizations. She has finally joined responsibility Investments AG as a project officer Agriculture Africa. She took part into the creation of responsAbility Fair Trade Fund in 2011 before becoming Head Agriculture Debt Investment in 2013.

ACHIEVEMENT/ What is your project/ initiative/startup/company all about?

The responsAbility Fair Trade Fund aims at financing all the actors composing the chain of the agricultural value and engaging in favor of the sustainable development: the responsibility Fair trade Fund finances more than a hundred agricultural organizations (cooperatives, import/ export/ processing companies) in about forty countries and processing a large variety of products (coffee, cacao, sugar, nuts, spices, fruits, vegetables, grain). The amount of assets under management at the end of June 2014 was already of 90 millions USD.

IMPACT/ What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental…of the activity, project, initiative, startup, company?

More than 2 billion households among the poorest depend on agriculture. Provide these people with an access to finance services allow them to increase the production, the quality of their products and to improve their access to the market. Thus, they can answer the global demand for food and make their living conditions better. In 2013, more than 280 000 small producers got, directly or indirectly, funding granted by the Fair Trade Fund.
