BACKGROUND / Academic and professional background.

I joined Generali in January 2014. Prior to Generali I spent 6 years at Mckinsey & Company, based in Milan and in Dubai where I served leading banks and insurers across Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa with a great focus on strategy and performance transformation.

Before Mckinsey & Company, I spent 7 years at StMicroelectronics where I did extensive work in technical areas, marketing and sales in Europe, US and China.

I hold a Master Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan.

 

ACHIEVEMENT/ What is the project/initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum all about ?

I will present how a traditional insurer with more than 200 years is leveraging technology and innovative thinking to improve people’s live. Specifically i will introduce the Generali-Vitality project, the first of its kind in the insurance industry in Europe that has the ultimate goal to motivate people to live an healthy life.

 

 LOCATION/ In which city, country, part of the world do you conduct your activities ?

We are predominatly a European player that has a presence in Asia and Latin America.

 

IMPACT/ What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental…of the activity, project, initiative, startup, company ?

Over the years insurers have developed their business models with the only objective to protect their customers in case a ‘bad-event’ happens.

We at Generali would like to go beyond this business model. We would like to innovate this business by using technology and connectivity to prevent that ‘bad-events’ happen. We started to apply this concept to our motor insurance products. We can provide regular feedback to our customers on their driving style, making them aware of the risks they are incurring with certain driving behaviours and rewarding them if they improve their driving style. We are now expanding this concept to life and health insurance where we would like to motivate our customers to live an healthy lifestyle, to do phisical activities, to eat healthy food, to regularly check their health status. We strongly believe that by incentivizing our customers to live healthy we contribute to create a better society and we can achieve this with a self sustainable business model.
