BACKGROUND / Academic and professional background
Hélène VALADE is a graduate from the Institute of Political Science in Paris.
Between 1995 and 2005, she specialized in opinion strategy research and consulting with central and local government; she successively managed the public Opinion Department of IFOP, the market research and opinion poll institute, followed by the Opinion division at TNS Sofres. In 2005, she joined Lyonnaise des Eaux and created the Sustainable Development Department, which was supplemented by Ethics in 2008 and Forward Planning in 2010.
In addition to her duties at SUEZ, Hélène VALADE is also Chair of C3D (College of Sustainable Development Directors) which she co-founded in 2007.
ACHIEVEMENT/ What is your project, initiative, start-up, company all about?
The C3D is an association that gather 120 sustainable development managers. Its purpose is to exchange best practice and to mobilize on the implementation of a new model of society more respectful of social issues and natural resources.
LOCATION/ In which city, country, part of the world do you conduct your activities?
The C3D act in France and opens in the territories by creating branches in regions.

Companies integrate the objectives of sustainable development in their strategy and create partnership actions: corporate contribution to the climate challenge and the COP21 is a good example.
