Founder, World Toilet Organization
Jack Sim is a Businessman from Singapore who decided to dedicate his life to social assistance. He brought the problems linked to toilets and sanitizing in the world under the media light.
He created the World Toilet Organization in 2001; a global platform aimed at bringing technical assistance to enterprises and at influencing governments in terms of public health policies. Today, the WTO is a network of 235 organizations in 58 countries.
In 2006, he won the prize of Social Entrepreneur of the year awarded by the Schwab Foundation of Switzerland and became one of the key members of the Sustainable Sanitizing Alliance in 2007. Working with institutions such NON-HABITAT, the UNESCO, the UNICEF, the World Bank and several other international groups, he wants to improve sanitizing in the world. He is the chief of the secretary of the Alliance in Singapore. In 2008, Jack Sim became the First Singaporean to be designated as a Global Fellow of Ashoka.
