I am a lawyer, writer, and cartoonist focused on creating a more just, equitable, and sharing world. I co-founded the Sustainable Economies Law Center in 2009. I am author of Practicing Law in the Sharing Economy (ABA Books 2012), and co-author of The Sharing Solution (Nolo Press 2009).
ACHIEVEMENT/ What is your project, initiative, start-up, company all about?
The Sustainable Economies Law Center facilitates the growth of sustainable and localized economies through education, research, legal services, and policy advocacy. We focus on the development of cooperatives and other democratic legal structures. We work to re-imagine the legal profession worldwide, and to support lawyers who are shifting the focus of their work to developing positive local economies. We also advocate for laws to remove barriers to small enterprise, sharing economies, crowdfunding, and complementary currencies.
