Commissioner General for Investment
Louis Gallois has graduated from HEC, from ENA and holds a higher studies diploma in economics. He started his career at the French Treasury, and then became Principal Private Secretary to Jean-Pierre Chevènement, Minister for Research and Technology. Later he joined the Minister for Research and Industry and became General Director of Industry, before working again as Principal private secretary for Jean-Pierre Chevènement, French Minister for Defense at the time (1988-1989).
He was chairman of the SNECMA from 1989 to 1992, chairman of the Aérospatiale from 1992 to 1996, chairman of SNCF from 1996 to 2006, and co-chairman, executive president and administrator of EADS from 2006 to 2012, and at the same time, CEO of Airbus (2006-2007).
Since 2012, he is Commissioner-General for Investment. Simultaneously, he is since 2011 the president of La Fabrique de l’Industrie, a think-tank devoted to fostering reflection and to opening perspectives on industry. Louis Gallois is as well the President of the National Federation of NGOs devoted to welcoming and to social integration- FNARS.
