CEO, Elan Edelman and Vice-President, Enterprise & Progress
BACKGROUND / Academic and professional background:
Graduated from the European Business School and CELSA. Marion began her career with the L’Oréal Group before joining i&e Consultancy as a communications consultant.
In 2002, she joined TBWA Corporate as Chief Executive of the Public Relations department, managing 40 people. In 2006, Marion was appointed Chief Executive of the Edelman Paris office.
In 2008, she decided to create her own agency, ELAN, that quickly became a leading agency in the French influence landscape. Truly an entrepreneurial venture, 7 years after its creation ELAN employed 70 consultants and earned 10 million euros in gross profits, with an office dedicated to digital in London and a lobbying office in Brussels. In 2014, Marion decided to sell ELAN to Edelman to bring an international dimension, beyond Europe, to her clients. Thus ELAN Edelman, a consulting agency born of the merger between ELAN and Edelman Paris, and chaired by Marion, was created. One hundred forty consultants work for 80 clients in France, and the Paris office is also a Hub in Europe.
Beyond her professional activities, Marion committed herself to issues and causes she believes in:
- The business world, entrepreneurship and economy through the Think Tank Entreprise et Progrès where Marion serves as Vice-President, and the Positive Economy Forum where she is member of the Strategic Committee.
- Women and Women’s Leadership through the TEDxWomen where Marion is member of the Council, the network IWF which she helped to establish with Lucille de Jonquières. Additionally, the Minister for Family and Women’s Rights Laurence Rossignol entrusted her with a ministerial mission to combat sexism.
ACHIEVEMENT/ What is the project/initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum all about?
Throughout all my professional experiences, I have been committed to shifting the lines, inventing models and transforming organizations.
For more than 20 years, I have been discovering the paths of influence while trying to change its codes.
That is the reason why I created ELAN in 2008, to innovate in the way we advise companies and leaders and hence fulfilling my entrepreneurial dream. In ELAN Edelman, I continue transforming our job and focusing on the invention of new management models (freed companies, Y and Z generations…) so as to invent tomorrow’s agency.
LOCATION / In which city, country, part of the world do you conduct your activities?
My actions take me across France and worldwide. As ELAN Edelman’s CEO, I help my clients and their leaders with their growth in France, as well as with their international development. ELAN Edelman’s presence in 65 cities and its ubiquitous outreach exposes me to international clients facing global issues.
IMPACT / What is the positive economic, social, political, environmental…of the activity, project, initiative, startup, company?
As an entrepreneur, I am concerned about the positive impact I can have on my environment. I believe I am a leader who cares about her teams’ evolution, always having in mind that tomorrow’s company must be constantly reinvented for them and with them.
Through my consultancy work with my clients, I highlight the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and I encourage them to strengthen their social impact, therefore serving the Common Good.
QUOTE/ A saying, quote or reference phrase that tells something about you:
