BACKGROUND / Academic and professional background:
Michel Giannuzzi graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Harvard Business School. He has spent his entire career in various industries, in France and abroad. From 1988 to 2001, he has held several positions within the tire Michelin Group (production, supply chain and CEO of Michelin Japan). From 2001 to 2006, he joined the automotive supplier Valeo Group as Vice-President and member of the Executive Committee managing different businesses. He joined Tarkett in 2007 as Chief Executive Officer and has rolled out a profitable and external growth strategy (20 acquisitions in 8 years) while developing a strong Sustainability commitment towards Circular Economy. In November 2013, he successfully led Tarkett’s IPO on Euronext Paris. Since October 2015, Michel Giannuzzi is an independent member of the Board of Directors of Sequana, a global leader in the paper industry.
ACHIEVEMENT/ What is the project/initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum all about?
Tarkett is a global leader in innovative and sustainable solutions for flooring and sports surfaces. Offering a wide range of products including vinyl, linoleum, carpet, rubber, wood and laminate, synthetic turf and athletic tracks, the Group serves customers in more than 100 countries worldwide. With 12,000 employees and 34 industrial sites, Tarkett sells 1.3 million square meters of flooring every day, for hospitals, schools, housing, hotels, offices, stores and sports fields. Committed to sustainable development, the Group has implemented an eco-innovation strategy and promotes circular economy.

Tarkett, an international French-based company, operates in 17 countries in Europe, North America, CIS, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Tarkett serves its customers in more than 100 countries worldwide, with the following net sales split: 34% for flooring in Europe, 28% for flooring in North America, 22% for flooring in the CIS countries, Latin America and Asia Pacific, and 16% for sports surfaces worldwide.
