ACTION / Describe your project, initiative, company
Religion specialist, Odon Vallet is the author of many books published by Albin Michel including Petit lexique des idées fausses sur les religions (2007) and Petit lexique des guerres de religions d’hier et d’aujourd’hui.
In the first book, Odon Vallet corrects the vocabulary approximations conveyed by the rumor or the media, such as the supposedly Islamic veil, secularism or anti-Semitism. He also shows the errors, without any concession, of « religiously correct » platitudes on Buddhist pacifism, protestant tolerance or the « Judeo-Christian guilt ». He finally shows how certain confusions conceal real difficulties that he encourages us not to escape from in order to curb intolerance and ignorance.
In his second book, entirely updated in the context of a critical situation, Odon Vallet, shows, with his usual sense of striking shortcuts and mixing of ideas, that there is never a « purely » religious war, nor a conflict entirely foreign to religion.
