Director of Sustainable Development & Operations, Grand Port Maritime du Havre
BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background:
With a PhD in coastal hydro sedimentary dynamic engineering, Pascal Galichon is responsible for Sustainable Development and Steering for the Harbor of Le Havre, where he defines, implements and track sustainable development policies, steers strategic decisionmaking and manages quality control. He also coordinates all major projects.
He started with the Port Autonome du Havre in 1995, and managed the Port 2000 project (meant to extend the Havre Harbor by 4.2 km to welcome additional container ships). He managed the dredging and hydrography services while still following the Port 2000 implementation and its environmental measures.
He had previously been working on research and taught higher education for four years, then worked for SOGREAH (now ARTELIA) for 8 years.
