Phil leads a new social enterprise ‘Cool2Care’, aimed at supporting families with disabled children. The organisation was established in 2007 and helps families across England find support. Cool2Care has won several top awards including the Global Social Venture Competition, Europe in 2007, the Barclays Startup Social Enterprise of the Year in 2008, the RADAR Doing Care Differently Award in 2009, the RBS Social Enterprise Growth Champion, in 2011.
Phil has a professional background in international business, having worked for IBM for 20 years in various international roles. These include general management, strategic planning, marketing, Business Transformation & change management. He spent four years working in IBM Asia Pacific HQ, based in Tokyo.
For six years he has been a member of the board of trustees for the UK based charity ‘Contact a Family’, that provides support and information to families with disabled children. He campaigns regularly on behalf of disabled children via public speaking engagements, newspaper and radio.
In 2010 Phil became an Ashoka Fellow, joining a global network of 2,500 social entrepreneurs around the world, recognised for their contribution towards leading innovation and systemic social change.
Phil has a BA in Mathematics from Oxford University, and an Executive MBA from London Business School. He is married with two sons, of which the elder has physical and learning disabilities, and lives in Surrey, UK.
