Mr. Sanjeev Rao is the Founder and CEO of Gateway to India, (G2i) a venture which helps accelerate success in Euro Indian projects. G2i has worked on numerous projects in supporting Continental European Companies enter the Indian market and has supported them both in their operations and investments. A Telecoms Engineer with an MBA from INSEAD, Sanjeev is also one of the Trade Commissioners of France in India. He is a visiting professor at EM Lyon and also conducts Leadership Development Programs for European Business Leaders on Cultural Impact on Business, Managing Complexity & Diversity, Reverse Innovation and Social Inclusion in Business.
Observing the business world simultaneously through his Indian and French perspectives for over 20 years, Sanjeev has made a career of successfully straddling the two seemingly different realms. Previously, he was with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Paris where he worked on many international strategic, business development and change management assignments. In his nine years at Alstom, based in Europe, he helped set up R&D co development teams and transfer of technology from France to India as well as developing business in both the American and Asian regions.
After 15 years in Europe, Sanjeev has now moved back home to India and is based in Bangalore since 2006. Beyond a professional Euro Indian Project, Sanjeev is now strongly involved with an innovative education project “Head Held High”, to impact education and employability in India. The aim of this project is to support India’s underprivileged population through breakthrough education, self-development and community empowerment.
