Secretary General, Finance Watch
Thierry Philipponnat managed the project design Finance Watch from December 2010 to June 2011, before becoming Secretary General June 30, 2011.
After studying at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Economics, he began a career in finance in 1985 and served successively operator bank at Bank French Foreign Trade , operator market options and convertible bonds at O’Connor & Associates, a founding partner of Exane, Executive Director responsible for equity derivatives and equity-linked products at UBS, then head Deputy structuring activity “equity financing” at BNP Paribas, and finally group responsible for equity derivatives business for Euronext.liffe
Since 2006, Thierry Philipponnat was involved in the NGO world, participating with Amnesty International to different campaigns and lobbying on the impact of financial sector on human rights. He has represented Amnesty International to the United Nations and the European Commission and was later elected to the Executive Office of Amnesty International France.
Thierry Philipponnat is also a member of the executive committees of Euronext (Paris) and LIFFE (London).
